PROJECT > Window Washers
I am fascinated by professional window cleaners, not only because they perform feats on a par with skilled mountain climbers but also because of the unique visual manifestations of their tools. In this series I focus on dangling ropes, which, unlike the ones under tension, appear to move freely. Their indeterminacy is at odds with the highly controlled nature of the work and their abstract dance is like a seismograph of the complex dynamics to which they are subject.
